Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) Recruiting Staff

Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) – As part of its staff expansion plan, the Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS) has said that it will recruit about 1,250 persons across the states immediately.

While appearing before the Nigerian Senate committee on Finance at the National Assembly, yesterday, the executive chairman of Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Babatunde Fowler, has disclosed that as part of its staff expansion plan, the FIRS will recruit about 1,250 persons across the states immediately after the budget has been assented to by the President.

According to The Leadership, he said, “Basically what we are discussing is 2016 budget. And within the budget, we do have provision for recruitment of staff in terms of staff expansion; and in total we are expected to recruit about 1,250 and we have not started and that process will start once the budget have been approved.”

The executive chairman however lamented non payment of tax by Nigerians, saying only ten per cent of Nigerians pay their tax.

“We were in Kano, earlier this week and the Emir spoke to all Muslims that payment of tax that is not against Islam. But we have people in different languages with different ideas and as a tax body we have to make sure that we can educate everyone.

“We have running jingles in all major languages in Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, Pidgin English and once we sensitise the public and you understands what needs to be done, then you can start enforcement or start expecting people to pay tax; that is the media campaign.

“By the grace of God and with your support , we will meet our target. With the economic crunch, the issue is that I can tell you certain information which maybe to start with, the honest truth is that when it comes to payment of VAT less than 10 percent in terms of numbers actually are remitting on VAT.

“If those people who are benefiting from Nigeria and actually have the love for Nigeria ,they can do the right thing by paying their taxes because in paying taxes ,you are empowering government to provide service. We intend to make sure that we get at least a 90 per cent compliance over the last few months we have added over 362, 000 new tax payers and then our job is just to make sure that we enforce payment.”

Rhapsody of Realities Daily Devotional.

Date: Monday,  February 16th, 2015.
Theme: Activating Your Faith!
Author: Pastor Chris Oyakhilome PhD.

Scriptural Reference: And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace (Luke 8:48).

Matthew 9:27 tells us of two blind men that followed Jesus crying, "...Thou Son of David, have mercy on us". He asked them: "Do you believe I'm able to do this?". They answered affirmatively, and He touched them and their eyes opened. Their faith-response connected them with their healing.

Believing is from, and with the heart (Romans 10:10). You don't believe with your brain or with your mind; you believe with your spirit. When you believe with your spirit and respond according to your believing, your faith produces results. In Luke 8:43-44, the Bible tells us of the story of a woman who had suffered an issue of blood for twelve years and how she received her healing just by touching the border of Jesus' garment. This was no ordinary touch, because the Lord felt the
impact of it, so much so, that He asked, "Who touched me?"

The woman, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before the Master and told Him what happened. The Lord then said to her, "...Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace" (Luke 4:48). The Master identified her faith as what made her whole. It was her faith that touched Jesus and connected her to her healing. It was
a spiritual touch. She saw the Lord Jesus
beyond the physical man; she saw Him as the Son of God, and touched Him with her spirit. Faith is of the spirit.

Your faith is what makes the connection. The woman with the issue of blood, when she had heard of Jesus, said to herself, "...If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole" (Matthew 9:21). She believed, confessed her believing, and went for
her miracle. You can do the same!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for the opportunity to study your Word, and increase my faith. As I put my faith to work, I experience an endless stream of the miraculous from day to day, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Make Your Tongue Your Tree Of Life

A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit (Proverbs 15:4).

Using your mouth rightly is a vital key that unlocks the blessings of salvation in your life! Stressing the importance of this, 1 Peter 3:10-11 says, “For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile.” Though your tongue is small, it controls everything in your life; with it, you can chart your course in righteousness, dominion, success, and prosperity. There’s no situation that can’t be changed, and no wound in your body that can’t be healed, if you’d make your tongue your own tree of life by declaring God’s Word over your life and situation.

The word, “wholesome” in our opening verse is translated from the Hebrew word, “marpe,” which means healing and health. A “wholesome” tongue,6 therefore, is a tongue that’s curative, a fountain of life, because it’s filled with the Word of God!

Speak God’s Word; speak health, wellness, and life to your body; that’s what your mouth is for. Your mouth wasn’t given to you merely for eating and drinking; its greater use is for controlling your life. Your present position in life is the result of your “mouth-work.” Matthew 12:37 says, “For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned,” letting you know that you’re to regulate your life with your tongue: What you say is what you get!

Often times, there’re those who wonder why the circumstances of their lives, and their experiences, don’t seem to align with the wonderful blessings and provisions of the Gospel, despite being born again for several years. The reason for this dilemma is that they haven’t made their tongue their own tree of life.

You can be anything you want to be, have anything you want to have, and achieve anything you want to achieve within God’s perfect will. The key is in regulating your life with your tongue, making your tongue your own tree of life!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for your grace that has brought salvation to my spirit. With my mouth, I keep on proclaiming that all the blessings of salvation—health, prosperity, safety, wellness and wholeness—consummated by the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, are my present-hour possessions and vital realities of my daily existence, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Know your purpose in Him

Sunday, January 4th.

Pastor Chris

...To this end was I born, and for this cause came I
into the world...
(John 18:37).

''Is it easy for one to find out His purpose on earth from the Lord?"
Someone might ask. Emphatically yes! He's a master communicator.
If you'd ask Him about His
purpose for your life, He'll talk about His purpose for your life, He'll talk to you in a language that
you'd understand; He'll lead you in life into that which He has called you to be. All you have to say
is "Lord, guide my spirit; I want to be all that you want me to be; lead me into that which you have
chosen me for." Then, follow your spirit, as He leads you.

There're times that the Spirit of God could strengthen your heart towards something or against a particular thing. That's an indication of His guidance in your spirit. When He strengthens
your heart against a particular thing, it may not necessarily be because that thing is wrong, but
because the timing might be wrong. Nonetheless, if you'd listen to Him in your spirit and follow the
Word, you'll walk in His perfect will always.

He'll make you a success at every level of your life. Perhaps you were wondering and thinking what
new investments to undertake, what new frontiers to chart or what business to embark on. Listen to Him in your spirit and He'll guide you aright. Often,
we say any project, business or vision that's good
for people and glorifies God is okay; but that's in the general class.

There're specific things that are
peculiar to you as a person; which means even though such may be good for God and good for
people, God may not want you particularly to go into it.
This is the reason you must find out your purpose in Him and know for yourself what direction to take
in fulfilling the destiny that He has for you. That's why we learn the word of God, and get the
inspiration of the Holy Spirit in our lives. The more you recognize His voice within your spirit,
understand His word, and live by it, the clearer His voice will be within you for everything in life. That way, you'll never be confused about what to do, where to go etc; you'd become the revelation of
God's will in your daily walk.

PRAYER

Blessed Father, thank you for leading me in the paths of success, victory, and rest by the Holy Spirit, who is my all. I'm completely yielded to Him
as He leads me to make accurate decisions, and walk in the center of your perfect will, always, in
Jesus' Name. Amen
